
HSE Specialist
• Monitor and update applicable legal requirements, permits, standards, and compliance obligations related to environment, occupational health and safety.
• Conduct and update HSE risk assessments, hazard identification, and environmental aspect-impact assessments; propose appropriate control measures.
• Perform routine workplace inspections in production, warehouse, utility, and common areas; identify unsafe acts/conditions and follow up corrective actions; stop work where there is an imminent risk of serious injury or environmental harm.
• Manage the PPE program: define requirements, coordinate issuance, train users, inspect compliance, and recommend replacement when needed.
• Organize or coordinate HSE training including new employee orientation, machine safety, chemical safety, fire safety, emergency response, waste segregation, and other relevant HSE topics.
• Manage chemicals and SDS: maintain chemical inventory, labels, storage conditions, compatibility, spill response equipment, and SDS records.
• Monitor waste management: segregation, storage, labeling, handover, and records for hazardous/industrial waste; verify that waste contractors hold valid licenses.
• Coordinate occupational hygiene and health controls such as noise, dust, chemical vapors, heat, lighting, ergonomics, and required health examinations.
• Monitor fire protection equipment, emergency exits, signage, and emergency response equipment; coordinate fire, spill, and evacuation drills.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, environmental incidents, or safety events; identify root causes, establish CAPA, and verify effectiveness.
• Control contractors and visitors regarding HSE requirements; provide induction, permit-to-work, or safety checks for high-risk activities when applicable.
• Maintain HSE records, forms, and data; prepare weekly/monthly reports on accidents, near misses, training, inspections, waste, resource consumption, and corrective actions.
• Support maintenance and internal audits of ISO 14001 and coordinate HSE-related requirements linked to ISO 9001/IATF 16949.
• Track HSE objectives and improvement programs such as accident reduction, waste reduction, energy/water saving, 5S, and workplace condition improvement.
• Perform other HSE duties assigned by management and support departments when new risks or compliance requirements arise.
• College or university degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, HSE, or a related field.
• At least 1-3 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of Vietnamese legal requirements related to occupational safety and health, environment, fire safety, chemicals, and waste.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001; Experience with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 in manufacturing is a plus.
• Able to perform risk assessments, incident investigation, 5 Why/Fishbone analysis, CAPA, and workplace inspection.
• Able to conduct training, communicate effectively with workers, and coordinate cross-functionally.
• Good Microsoft Office skills with the ability to prepare reports and manage HSE data.
• Basic to intermediate English reading ability for HSE/ISO documents is an advantage.
